Ok, so let's start...

WEAPONS

You get your healer out of the box at level 2-4. First thing you want to do is get your self last chaos gold and level to 20 in 10 days as fast as possible. doing this will get you your Own Athen Indignation (healer event weapon) its attack is 84 which is roughly equivalent to a level 29 bow that you can use once your level 17, so if you complete it you get to use it till your level 31. You can pack a scepter once in a while as its useful in pet leveling and personal dungeons, but if you have multi-strike, a bow is fine too.

PETS

On early levels, it is not wise to use a scepter unless you are pet leveling. Remember that you want to level as fast as you can to level 31 to get to change class. Get a pet pony and don't mount it untill level 37. Mounting at 31 is fine but you will have to raise another one to get it to level 37 (at this level they give both level 10 offensive and defensive buffs)
Using your pet you would want to put the pet's Tech pts. Towards DEF and some on HP so that you won't die too fast. Play around with the stats, they're free to reset at the pet trainer. 

SKILLS

Spend your SP wisely... once sp is spent, its gone... so make sure that you spend it wisely on the following skills

1. heal
2. party heal
3. fast bow fixing

4. rise focus
5. rise mana
6. Poison Arrow
7. mana shield
8. double sling shot

The other skills just get the minimum requirement if needed to acquire the next skill. 

STATS

Before level 31, just put all stats into DEX as you need the high evasion and attack power this will give you. Don't worry about the HP and the DEF, your pet can take care of you. 

FARMING

Stick to white mobs for both XP and SP, they give good gold. If possible try to find a last chaos gold. If they want to take on red names suggest an EQ party. So you will heal them and you get XP for it. Its a fair trade, most low level players will not survive without healers as health pots are pretty expensive. So there is a sweet deal to it. 

CLERICS

OK so you're level 31 and you've maxed out your level 30 skill. Have 50K gold handy and go to the Master Healer and change class to cleric.

You will learn your 1st clerical skills at level 32 so you can choose from Encourage, Fast Heal. Stat points come in 3 and 4 respectively so choose wisely where you will put them, although if you make a mistake you can reset the stat point for 20K each with Crean.

Remember that as a Cleric you will be using a scepter as your primary and your Cleric spells can be cast only when wielding a scepter of any kind.

Ex.

Your scepter has low magic attack, and you want to get rid of the mobs. Cast Encourage on yourself (click your own name then cast) then cast fast bow fixing then equip bow. This way you have given yourself +40 attack with the bow. But remember when you do this you can only use Healer skills and not cleric skills.

At this time, you will be attending more parties and often they will as you to party with them, so it will be wise to have Resurrection by now, not really as necessary.

ADDENUM:

I learned something new. I made a mistake in putting in stats at the wrong skill... I placed too last chaos gold on the INT, but at lvl 38, I wanted charm (17 DEX) so what I did was take off some stats from my INT (with NPC Crean) and put them to DEX and learned Charm. Now of course I thought that I lost my Fast Heal skill. What happened was it was still there but I was unable to use it. So i will need to get to level 40 to get to use it again... its a fair deal. At least now I have both the 38 Skills:

Charm = +50 Magic Attack
Mana Barrier = 25% reduction from melee attacks (dunno if this works bec i haven't really seen the diff when i lvl)
